Lately I’ve gotten myself into a mindless routine.
I wake up, make coffee, login to work, talk to folks, log out, sleep. And between the doldrums of work, I eat. This has been the pattern of my life over the last 5 years. I’m not sad, or depressed. But I read that the older you get, the faster time moves. Because the days start to look the same.
I talked to a friend yesterday and she mentioned that the best way to get out of a rut is to do something small, anything that would take 5 minutes a day. The important thing was that I did it every single day. And over time, I’d start to find the enthusiam in life, in myself.
And that is the reason for this post. I want to start writing every day, in the quiet, no music, no youtube videos playing in the background, no doom scrolling or playing a quick game of chess.
Just 5 minutes of quiet — to write. So I can exercise some control, so I can find the enthusiasm in life.
